A hundred years ago, tenants took turns cleaning the stairs and people looked out for one another. Everyone in the building acted in concert with the factors to maintain the building. Sadly, this is no longer the case. I know this because I live in a tenement and the factors can't get anyone to agree on anything so the tenement is crumbling away.",
