The estimated amount of hash power needed for a 51% attack on Bitcoin has been calculated by observing the current total hash rate of the Bitcoin network. By measuring the total hashing power of Bitcoin and dividing it by two, we can estimate the amount of power required to launch a successful 51% attack.
