i prefer dark and i prefer black backgrounds or the very-dark-teal of the material oceanic theme, and they are more efficient energy-cost-wise on OLED displays
but for passive lit epaper, white/grey/cream is the right colour
i just hate the bright light, to be honest, it hurts my eyes, even in full daytime i prefer a dark theme
