reading stuff about the missing sub led me to finding out about a place called Devil's Hole in Death Valley. apparently, in the middle of the desert within a crack of the earth, there's an underwater cave system with an unknown depth. a diver 315ft below the surface dropped a weight line down a hole an additional 900ft without hitting bottom
earthquakes in Mexico 2000 miles away have caused the water at the surface to slosh four feet. it's wild how little we know about underground water systems
