CosaNostr on Nostr: one possible way forward.... #[1]
one possible way forward....
quoting nevent1q…wd49Lightning + S3 + nostr relay. S3 is just a protocol, it doesn’t have to be AWS. It’s good for run your own media host usecases, but there are better storage protocols for a distributed version of this that won’t scale to the size of the internet, but won’t have to. Noderunners who are already running Lightning + Storage & Compute + new nostr relays could begin pooling excess resources and selling them to Nostriches.
This grows network capacity and provides supply to the nostr economy. That’s how you’ve got to start thinking of nostr, as an economy.
It will probably grow as a storage pool in this case, making more sense for small nodes to join a bigger network together for availability, scalability, security and privacy. They’ll all get paid based on how much resources they contribute and consume. #nodestrich is showing how this could form.
Something like Bitcoin cloud, not AWS. There’s already a bounty for a nostr relay on Start9 and they already have distributed file. Won’t take long til someone builds the capability.
These are the kind of things that need to take place before a full substack replacement can emerge. You need the infrastructure and current relays are already struggling so there is demand to fill. If the demand grows miners may get involved and it could scale, that kind of growth would be a good problem to have which the market would solve.
