My favorite thing about Nostr is knowing that I can save my best content for a platform that is truly free and for the people. I can take my time to develop my best ideas and I have the free will, choice, and control to share them here when I am ready. I don’t stress about it fitting into an algo packaged for likes or views.

I create something I love and I share it. I release it to the world and if people like it, awesome. If they don’t, that’s cool too. Point is I’m not under the thumb or rule of any big tech algo quietly silencing me and disguising it under control for some obscure “violation” to demonetize or censor me. Better yet, people decide for themselves if they feel it is worthy of a ⚡️ and I don’t have to meet some bs metric criteria in order to become eligible for monetization.

IG burned me in the past. They striked my account for “content violations” with obscurity. No clear rationale or reason was ever given to me. I never posted anything dangerous, offensive, or crude. I only posted art I created and expressed my passions as I continued to learn. I followed all of their rules. I appealed the violation and was never given any follow up explanation as to what specific rule I was violating in the first place.

It left me extremely disappointed and frustrated. The real kicker is my account was never big enough to meet the qualifications to be eligible for monetization so I was really confused and jaded when I learned they gave me a strike for essentially no reason at all. Even worse, after I appealed it, they quietly removed the strike six months later. And yet I never received notice of it. Not an apology, explanation or anything.

I guess all of this is to say. Long live freedom and power to the people. 👊🏼
