Egyptian international star Mohamed Salah revealed that there are no new developments in ongoing negotiations regarding his contract extension with his current team Liverpool, pointing out that his full focus is currently on leading his team to win the English Premier League title. Salah continued to shine in his exceptional season in the English Premier League, after scoring a goal and providing two assists, leading Liverpool to a 5-0 victory over West Ham United, yesterday, in the 19th stage of the competition. After the match, which was held at the Olympic Stadium in London, Salah told Sky Sports: 'I'm happy with the result. We opened the scoring early and dominated the game very well.' Salah talked about his teammate's opening goal, Colombian Luis Diaz, saying: 'Luis was shouting and I knew I was going to sprint towards the goalkeeper. It was a smart play.' Regarding the possibility of winning the Golden Ball award next year, Salah replied: 'The only thing that's going through my mind is that I want Liverpool to win the league and I want to be part of that.' Salah emphasized: 'I will give my all to help the team win the title. There are a few other teams chasing us and we need to stay focused and humble and try to win again.' The Egyptian captain added: 'I'm just trying to enjoy every game. In the end, I came here to win and I want to do something in the match, but I'm really thirsty for more.' Regarding contract renewal talks with Liverpool, Salah said: 'No, we're not close to that and I don't want to put anything in the media.' The 'King of Egypt', as Liverpool fans call him, has been providing an exceptional performance with the Red team this season, contributing 30 goals in his 19 matches in the English Premier League so far this season. Salah leads the top scorer list in the prestigious competition this season with 17 goals, three goals ahead of his closest pursuer, Norwegian Erling Haaland, Manchester City's striker. Salah also tops the list of most assists providers in the competition this season, after providing 13 decisive passes, three more than his closest pursuer, Bukayo Saka, Arsenal's star. It is worth noting that Salah's contract with Liverpool expires in June 2025.
