Just rewatched somebody play Isshin and not get like a perfect hit/whatever run on him, just reasonable gameplay from someone good enough to just barely win. Sekiro is a masterpiece still. I was too quick to tie it to Nine Sols which is mid-tier garbage made absurdly hard because it's otherwise not memorable for its gameplay.
The only boss I recall in Souls being so outrageously hard that it was completely reasonable to quit playing was the Sekiro guy at the end with his gun and three phases. I remember thinking that the reward wasn't worth the suffering after I spent like 3 hours fighting this asshole over and over to learn all of the attacks. Nothing about it was "fun". Felt more like paying a toll.
