At the end of every school year I dread leaving “my kids” (students) because nearly every summer I’ve lost one of them to prison or death. It’s a gut punch that I know is coming.
I’m teaching summer school now & have some new students who’ve already become “my kids”
One of my new kids was jumped as he left school yesterday. He survived, but is seriously injured. Gut punch.
Now I have to hope that this is the only gut punch & that I’ll see ALL my beautiful kids again.
