No, some of them really are bullshit and the 1cc strats almost always involve at least one boss getting cheesed with offscreen shenanigans. The amount these games penalize you for even the slightest mistake is insane. These days, you really SHOULD just play SOR4, FnR, or Mayhem Brawler for a clean proper beat-em-up. Or SORR or even a couple OpenBOR mods that don't suck balls.
Final Fight and Cadillacs and Dinosaurs are about the only two I would recommend seriously for opposite reasons (FF is simple but does something different. C&D does everything modern beat-em-ups do but slightly less good, so it's still great but not as refined.). I still need to play Vendetta though.
