NEW: Shakeeb Ahmed has been convicted to three years in prison for hacking two cryptocurrency exchanges, and stealing around $12 million in crypto.
One of his victims, Nirvana Finance, had to shut down after the hack.
With the other victim, Crema Finance, Ahmed tried to negotiate a finder's fee of $1.5 million in exchange for returning the rest of the money, and a promise to not call the cops.
Crema declined, and Ahmed was eventually arrested.
