The *only* reason I write apps for iOS is I’m a longtime Mac d, ev there’s a lot of overlap between iOS dev and Mac d. ev no overlap between Mac and other OSes. There are no other “marketplaces”. Unlike most physical products that can be sold in retail stores, native software is not interchangeable between stores. What most people would tout as the advantage of iPhone, the API, is exactly what precludes software from being interchangeable.
