Herr Irrtum! on Nostr: Nooooo, npub1vpdkr…5vgym don't listen, don't do that. It's perfect for that ...

Nooooo, npub1vpdkru9w345tke4knzcsm2urmyar20h2zyv9lvrd08wrern0t00st5vgym (npub1vpd…vgym) don't listen, don't do that. It's perfect for that "vector" style, as it is. Also the poster/ad back then didn't have it.

I know, there wasn't a VGA version, but later games like money Island were always nagging me. They had full 256 colors, they could have used full 200 colors for a perfectly smooth background, probably less because there is never a place where there is a vertical stripe full of sky, so more like 160 colors max. leaving 96 colors for the rest. And when changing color every second line only half of it.
Instead perfect 90° gradients but dithered in like 12 shades of blue.
Damn it, every time I was playing Monkey Island it was soooo much enraging me! I had the luxury of having 256 colors at the same time, yet someone thought: Ahhh: Let us dither this!

Even on the Amiga! Which had hardware for it (copper functionality): Change the background color every scan line. Have 31 colors for the rest...

No I should go back under my pillow trying very hard to forget about all those Lukasfilm/LukasArts missed technically opportunities. The games were good nevertheless... but what could have been...
