#WritersCoffeeClub Ch 15 Nbr 17 — Have you ever written anything where the POV shifts partway through to a new MC? Would you?

I write 1st person narrative. My current work has two POV MCs. I shift with a scene break or a chapter break all the time. The trick was for me to keep their internal narrative differently focused, and to find some unique voice for them. Overconfident nerdy expressive Thorn is a lot different from cautious protective sensitive Streak. Each get emotional over totally different things.

No, they don't get equal time on stage. Their roles are different.

I also wrote an epic fantasy trilogy with close to a dozen POVs that appeared and disappeared over the course of the story. Unique voice, unique agenda. That's all I required. Come to think about it, I also wrote a first contact story with five MCs that traded chapters.
