Not sure, I'll be a guest and didn't ask. I'm bringing an appetizer of stuffed mushrooms, and an addictive candy that goes back in our family to 1898.
Friends and family used to all bring our favorite recipes and traditions and do a huge potluck/byob for dinner, now it's a small group and likely to be catered at the nursing home.
There's still an ongoing after midnight/before bed tradition of pancakes that goes back in tradition to before the great depression, and it was kept during the great depression even, which cemented it into tradition and family lore. I really love that tradition. Only the grandkids and I still do it though.
