My severely underpowered laptop (now a distant memory) was darned near unusable post Windows 7. At the time, Mint was a really solid and lightweight distro. It extended the life of that crappy laptop for another couple years.
By the time I stopped using the laptop, Mint had become a bloated version of itself.
