When a #gay boy was savagely beaten in Ireland this week, his family released video of the attack to pressure authorities to act, and to spark discourse about the consequences of rising anti-#LGBTQ rhetoric.

Then the video was suppressed out of "respect." Why? Would true respect not mean honoring the family and having the courage to look squarely at the pain of a child at the epicenter of the an anti-#queer backlash?
