Linuxland shows that package management is a series of tradeoffs. Fast? Stable? Big bloated ecosystems of packages that are almost another system install. Otherwise, it sucks about the same as Windows update / installshield (lowercase due to intentional disrespect) with the possible exception of NixOS.
