I color-code my to-do list by which domain of my life it relates to - so I have school, coaching, rangering, parent-care, and personal.
One nice thing about this is that it lets me know when I'm tilting too far in any one direction, just by a quick glance at the list.
I noticed today that the entirety of my "not scheduled" items are colored to indicate that they're "personal". Guess it's clear which things I always punt until later...
