It's a simple question, with a convoluted answer, but YES, the federal Reserve is technically a PRIVATE, CORPORATE entity. It's shares are "owned " by the 12 chartered Regional banks within the federal reserve system (according to the Fed itself). The question then arises as to who "owns" the regional banks...this is a much more gaurded secret.
According to a 2018 FOIA request by Chris Martenson (best I could find), JP Morgan and Chase bank control approximately 72% of the shares in the regional banks (combined).
