I assure you it's not more efficient for a Chinese man in Guangzhou to assemble a calculator, send it to Hong Kong, put it on a boat to California and then mail it to you rather than have some small town factory in the united states assemble it locally.
It's unfair subsidies, currency conversion tricks and other market manipulations that cause such an outrageous market to form.
