In my opinion, things fall apart of their own accord when there is a contradiction (lack of consistency) at the core. The only hope is to have a fully consistent system, but Gödel’s theorem shows us that it is impossible to prove a consistent system.

The best bet we have are cryptographic systems that are mathematically consistent, not human-reliant, until discovered otherwise.

The political human-reliant systems we have will all eventually fall apart and right now we have the biggest show on earth playing out before our eyes.
