Golf was originally played on "the links", grassy areas near the shore which couldn't be used for crops or building so were used for grazing and recreational purposes. This should be revived, thereby making golf "courses" on land which could be used for other purposes redundant. Any golfer who disagrees obviously doesn't respect the traditions of the sport.
