Yeah those 70 mm films are huge. But you have to remember before IMAX there were at least two 70 mm formats in use on rare occasions going back to the 1950s. It's also why the opening credits in some of those films are squished to fit everything onto a 35 mm print or a 35 to 16 mm print that would air on TV stations.
