Today marks a very special birthday.
At home, recovering, doing things I love, working a bit, and spending time chatting with my wife.
An ordinary day, but in its own way, extraordinary.
I'll never forget, though, that exactly 36 years ago today, returning from school, I found a wrapped box with a gift from my parents.
I unwrapped it with my eyes closed, dreaming it would be exactly what I wished for. And, fortunately, it was: the dream of a boy turning eight, which his parents didn't quite understand but chose to support. Inside the box was a Commodore 64, the item that determined what my future would be.
Today, I want to thank my parents - who will never know I'm thanking them, as they don't even know what the Fediverse is. Their support helped me follow my path. Even though my father would have preferred me to be a lawyer (I wouldn't have been good at it, as I can't go against my beliefs), or a doctor (and I would faint at the sight of blood).
