I don't care if an individual landlord is okay. The concept of buying up housing that other people need and then instead of selling them that housing extracting rent far beyond what a mortgage would usually cost is extractive capitalist bullshit and virtually anyone who engages in it is being an extractive capitalist asshole. It's a scummy way to make a living even without getting into the worse aspects of denying people with pets housing or extracting ever larger deposits that you have no intention of ever returning and other abusive mechanics in a renter-landlord relationship
