it's not a logical law, it's efficiency for size, so if you enlarge the truck it has less of a standard to meet.
this vid sums it up pretty well and why even the smaller trucks on the market don't end up in the US. Only part I disagree with is the electric truck part because the EV trucks probably will have to be huge too to simply fit the damn battery, plus their battery efficiency goes to shit when you put any drag inducing load onto it.
