Linux may be better at satisfying your personal aesthetic preferences. Honestly, when I spend some time tinkering, I can get Linux closer to satisfying *my* aesthetic preferences in specific areas than the relatively less tunable macOS UI. However, these are aesthetics. At the level of basic functionality, however, desktop Linux is not even in the same category of product as macOS.
