They skipped a large chunk of buildup before the adventuring proper, all of which is important and comes back later, along with injecting new anime only stuff in that never landed as it should've (i.e. nanomachines having a visual body, which in the LNs they're genuinely just a fuckton of impossible to see nanomachines that never visualize).
LNs aren't much better, it's trashy isekai, but honestly I've enjoyed it. Also enjoy the one-off spinoff volume, it was fun. Definitely much better written than the anime. FUNA's two other works are better written than this one, but it's fun as the first one.
