Tapir on Nostr: Sleepypod's Martingale Calming Harness already has some new things that I haven't ...
Sleepypod's Martingale Calming Harness already has some new things that I haven't seen in harnesses.
The mesh harness supposedly works a lot like a thunder shirt where it wraps tightly around the animal, which is to illicit a calming effect.
The martingale is well known as a collar that acts sort of like a choke collar, but it doesn't tighten all the way to choke the animal - it is very helpful for animals that try to back out of collars, and was the only collar I would use for a while.
This harness works similarly, where the torso strap will tighten to an extent to help prevent escapes when cats or dogs try to slip out of the harness.
Then it has nearly everything a decent harness should have - breathable, front and back clip, the animal is protected from any metal pieces, adjustable, easy-release clips. AND it comes in cat sizes, too. Unfortunately there is no handle
My main skepticism with this though is 1) how calming is this calming effect? and 2) would the tightness needed for the calming effect make sizing more difficult, as there is only 5 dog and 3 cat sizes. If it does seem to have an impact though I definitely think it's worth the price, the largest harness is $100.
