This weekend our young trans niece almost took her life and remains in critical condition.

I'm disgusted and angry that her existence and the existence of LGBTQ people are used by opportunist politicians and religious fundamentalists under a veil of false concern to advance their own interests. They are complicit in this.

I hope one day this changes and that Trans/LGBTQ youth can live their lives in peace and without fear.
