No video in the preview, but got a warning the preview would be blank due to Video Overlay not being available.
Knowing about the copy protection issue, my test subjects are an old DVD from the dollar store with public domain cartoons on it, something I put test clips on myself, and the onscreen UI for the DVD player and the VCR.
If I can get those to work, I can move on to copy protection bullshit.
