BUT, he had a team of engineers who he had selected himself (he personally interviewed all of the first 3000 SpaceX employees) so trusted enough to at least not sack them for arguing with him. In those limited circumstances Musk seems to do well. It does not follow that he's anything other than a menace in other circumstances.
