Water
I recently went down this rabbit hole and did a bunch of research as well. I came to the same conclusion and have been using my Grayl for about a month.
I see a couple replies here about what to use at home. I concluded that a reverse osmosis (RO) system is the best to use at home. It’s critical to re-mineralize the water after RO as well. There’s a “budget” option ($250-$400) and an expensive, comprehensive ($3000-$4000) solution. I’ve heard a lot of positive reviews about APEC as a brand, and they sell both of these options.
