I had assumed that cicada sounds, like crickets & grasshoppers, were basically tiny insect guiros; but I looked it up & actually most of them make their sounds by rapidly flexing this drum like part of their exoskeleton?? I have no musical instrument to compare this to, but we should make one cause it sounds wicked
