Hmmm... The Labour Party's treatment of Faiza Shaheen back-fired spectacularly as she gained only 100 less votes that the new Labour candidate (both just over 12k) thereby splitting the Left vote, allowing the Tories ' Iain Duncan Smith (sadly) to retina his seat....

Shaheen would have been an excellent advocate for measure to tackle wealth inequality (her major expertise) and as such while hidden in the large majority this was a real missed opportunity for Labour.
