Other adverts in that issue featured watches, whiskey and jewellery. I sense that the main readership was male, with money to spare. I believe somewhere down the line we’ll discover men jumping through windows delivering Milk Tray. And then there’s the Flake advert…apparently, that caused an uproar in Italy, of all places.
