For other people who do work supporting prisoners, do you find it hard to maintain boundaries? I just gave my personal phone number to an inside organizer who recently got transferred, which is a violation of both our group's rules and my own good sense. But we've been talking regularly for months and I want to stay in touch with him even though he's been moved out of the area covered by our phone line. I know it's a safety and privacy risk and part of me regrets it, but it just felt like the only genuine, human thing to do given the situation.
I'd love to hear other experiences. Boosts appreciated for reach :)
