"content": "Having been a firefighter in my younger days, I encouraged my wife to join the volunteer fire department four years ago. I’ve been so impressed with the number of skills that she has learned and the capable, confident person she has become. Now our 19-year-old daughter is also on the department. An hour ago my daughter ran out the door to a single vehicle rollover and five minutes ago my wife left for a first responder medical call. It’s been a busy day. Four calls already in a town fewer than 3000. \n\nIf you ever want a bunch of paid training on everything from emergency driving to pump operation, high angle rescue, wildland firefighting, first aid, and structural fire suppression, consider volunteering today.
