Kalle Kniivilä (nprofile…3p3s) News like this (kyivindependent.com/ukraine-bu…) keep talking about this number as "joint investment fund" so I assume it is about investing in Ukraine - I suppose some sort of joint venture in natural resources extraction.
Trump isn't very nice but he has a point saying "we don't know where this will go in the future so we don't want to spend resources and possibly see them wasted but rather would have some skin in the game". It is not just about Russia even - maybe both will collapse, maybe Ukraine will change alignment or maybe things with EU will go sour so he seems skeptical about the idea spending much more to stabilize the situation just for the sake of it. He literally keeps saying "we have the ocean between us".
