I love UT'99 to bits and Quake 2 is one of my most fondly remembered games, but the "let me have it all" model is great for single-player focused shooting. For online I think it's... going to let pros mop the floor with the rest, even more so than normally. I don't remember what Quake Champions does, even though I played it a bit.
I know the feeling from Xonotic, even tho I was pretty ok at it.
