Volvo has scrapped plans to sell only electric vehicles by 2020, citing weakening demand for EVs, slowness of charging infrastructure build-out & removal of support for the transition.

My feeling is Volvo & other European car manufacturers are, however, leaving the field open for Chinese firms to keep building their reputations & profile in EVs, so when consumer demand (and infrastructure) pick-up, the Chinese firms will out-compete the Europeans?
