Soon™ no more!

We’re officially opening up Scrib v0.1 to the public.

You can now integrate bitcoin payments into your Ghost site via BTCPay Server, OpenNode, or LN Address with ease.

scribsat.com

We started building Scrib for ourselves (TFTC.io) in May 2019 out of a need to receive sats in a self-sovereign fashion on our site. In 2022, we recognized that others using Ghost as their CMS wanted the same thing, so we decided to productize what we built.

While building we recognized not every Ghost user who wants to integrate bitcoin payments is running a BTCPay Server (though we highly recommend it), so we decided to incorporate other payment options. Right now, those include OpenNode and LN Address, and we plan to add more.

By the end of Q1 you’ll be able to connect your River, Strike, or lnbits account. (If you want any other payment option implemented please let us know!) We’re agnostic about users’ preferences when it comes to receiving bitcoin. We don’t care what wallet you use.

Our goal is to empower you to monetize your content using the best money on the planet: bitcoin. How you choose to do that is up to you. We will build a product that allows you to do it as easily as possible.

We want to allow you to monetize your content via bitcoin in many different ways. And to be clear, the content doesn’t have to be text. Whether you have a podcast, comedy special, or eBook pdf you’d like to monetize, it’s all possible with Ghost + Scrib.

Once we nail Scrib’s integration with Ghost we have ambitions to become platform agnostic. We believe this product can be ported to WordPress, WooCommerce, Shopify, and anywhere else that is in need of offering bitcoin payment processing options to their users.

With that being said this is v0.1 and we have a long way to go. Please provide us with feedback. We’ll be the first to admit that the UI can be improved. DJ is a back-end engineer who has had no front-end help and I still haven’t learned to code. UI help wanted.

If you’re a bitcoiner using Ghost and you’d like monetization tools for your site, set up a Scrib account. It only takes a few minutes. We have some tutorials on the site to help make your on-boarding experience as seamless as possible.

We built TFTC.io using Ghost because it gives us the ability to publish in a truly sovereign way by having full control of our data and the ability to self-host. Adding bitcoin as a payment rail makes our stack as sovereign as possible.

Last but not least, Scrib plans to operate on a bitcoin standard. All subscription plans are priced and payable in sats and sats alone. v0.1 users will get a one month free trial for helping us get this thing off the ground. Onward!
