When you are using physical trackpad keys, you have to first navigate your cursor to the right position and then reposition your finger to the physical key. Instead, you can just tap right there with 1-3 fingers (tap, don’t press!). Better touchpads like those by Apple also don’t have a 'click zone' but allow you to physically press everywhere.
