When I was fired in 2016 I wasn't sure what I was going to do next, but after it took (apprently) longer than usual
for me to get my passport, I realized I was interested in the arts, specifically video/film. I didn't know what I was
going to do next, but I knew I loved my new way of life not working for one specific institution. The analogy that comes
to mind is that when you're making your way 'home' in the dark you don't actually need to 'see' your whole way home, you
just need to see the next steps in front of you. (though I've found over time the more steps you see, and plan out in detail the easier it becomes).
It's also gives much needed perspective to have at least 2 ideas/projects.

I may be made redundant or might need to re-apply for my own job. I find out in a week or so.
To be honest I just cant be arsed with I.T. anymore.
All the joy has been sucked out of it by tech bros and cloud infrastructure stuff.
I am thinking of making a clean break and doing something completely different.
I'm the only one in my family who can work due to illness. 2025 is shaping up to be an interesting year.
