Civilizations that have made consumption the focus of increasing GDP doom themselves and rot their culture. In 50 years for example the west has seen the push for consumerism lead to deflation of shit food and junk products when compared to M2 even in nominal terms for some stuff. We get two car garages and fill them with our cheap things we have no use for. Over burdened with expenses, we’ve been forced to work meaningless jobs and become detached from ourselves, families, and nature. All to keep up with the consumption.

With a non inflationary money the main driving variable for economists will be something similar to CPI except it will actually include electricity ⚡️ and it will be deflation not inflation. Humans will find tremendous benefit in saving and won’t have to chase their tail to diversify and invest correctly. As a result consumption of worthless goods will diminish and the efforts and energy that result in deflation will return to real food real experiences and real necessities. Work weeks get shorter, life gets better, renaissance and abundance for 1000 years follows.
