Recent "what ever happened to 'when they go low we go high?'" hand-wringing puts me in mind of this essay I wrote in May. It's about the moral necessity of dealing in bad faith with fascists, and includes a few thoughts on why it is good to lie about our own intentions to people who have made it clear that their intentions are murderous, and how to do it.
