She recounted a time when her entire school was positively terrified because one of the kids came down with polio.

I want to add that polio is *NOT* 100% eliminated yet. It's gone from much of the world, but with vaccination rates so low and travel so uncontrolled even during this major global pandemic everyone is ignoring, I think it's going to make a comeback. It is VERY contagious.
