Check out this thread from last November for a deep dive into Hubble's Pointing Control System and its gyros.
The gyros were replaced 3 times in Shuttle-based repair missions.
1993 – 4 units replaced
1999 – all 6 units
2009 – all 6 units, 3 with improved version that used Nitrogen instead of Oxygen.
Modern spacecraft like JWST use a newer more reliable type of gyroscope - the "Hemispherical Resonator Gyroscope" (HRG), with no moving parts.
