Kevin's Bacon on Nostr: I was in the library recently. I thought the fiction was real, until it hit me, this ...
I was in the library recently. I thought the fiction was real, until it hit me, this frickin' thing is a fiction! What a friction it caused in my mind! So I deliberately sought a book in the nonfiction section, on friction. But the example description within was the classical frictionless example of a block sliding down an incline. Nonfriction, if I may use such a line. I thought, I am seeking out nonfiction on friction, not this fictional account of nonfriction that defies intuition! So I threw the book at the table across from me and it slid all the way along the surface and off, you see. I thought, mein Gott, that nonfriction diagram was not fictitious at all! It was, in point of fact, nonfiction nonfriction!!!! At this point I wondered whether I was living in a fictitious simulation of negligible coefficients of dynamic friction, but I couldn't be, because the fiction had both dynamic and static friction, as did the nonfiction, in my hand in the moments before my loss of conviction. The fiction and nonfiction and their respective frictions were most definitely real, of this I have much stronger conviction.
